J. Patrick Lennon
Pat Lennon is proud to be a life-long resident of Western New York. Born and raised in Tonawanda, New York, Pat attended St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute and graduated with honors as both a student and an athlete. After earning an academic scholarship, Pat graduated from the University of Dayton with honors as a History major and English minor. He was a member of Phi Alpha Theta, the National History Honors Society.
Pat returned home for law school and graduated from UB Law School. He worked as a Law Clerk in a prominent downtown Buffalo law firm learning the practice of law from the grassroots up. While at UB Law, Pat was a member of the Moot Court Board and was inducted into the Order of Barristers, having exhibited excellence and high honor in the art of courtroom advocacy.
Upon graduation, Pat served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Erie County District Attorney’s Office for over 3 years. During that time, he worked in the City Court Bureau, Justice Courts Bureau (Town and Village Courts), Grand Jury Bureau, Felony Trial Bureau and the Special Investigations Bureau, focusing on white-collar crime and vehicular crime prosecutions. It was during this period of public service that Pat handled hundreds of trials, sharpened his trial advocacy skills and learned how to effectively present cases to both Judges and juries.
After the DA’s Office, Pat worked as a personal injury litigation defense attorney at a well-known Buffalo law firm for 2 ½ years. While there, Pat defended individuals and families in civil matters. During this time, Pat had the opportunity to work with insurance companies in their evaluation, handling and defense of personal injury cases, and gained firsthand knowledge of their interworkings and thought processes in defending these types of cases. Pat also gained valuable civil jury trial experience during this period, having successfully tried numerous cases on behalf of his clients.
In January 2008, Pat began working at Rosenthal, Siegel & Muenkel, LLP as an Associate Attorney and is now one of its Managing Partners. Through his time with our firm, Pat has worked hard to achieve millions of dollars in verdicts, awards and settlements on behalf of our personal injury clients. He has also successfully defended his clients in a wide variety of criminal matters, ranging from simple Vehicle and Traffic Law tickets to DWI’s to complex white-collar crime matters. When confronted with legal issues, Pat’s former clients return for his representation and advice in new matters, as well refer their friends and family members to him for representation and legal advice.
Pat has been chosen by his peers to serve as an Arbitrator in personal injury cases to decide their outcomes. He has been selected by local Supreme Court Judges to serve as a Court Evaluator and Referee in special proceedings. He has been recognized by SuperLawyers magazine as a Rising Star in the field of personal injury Plaintiff’s work in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017. Most recently, in 2018, Pat was recognized both as a Super Lawyer in the area of Plaintiff’s Personal Injury and named Legal Elite by Buffalo Business First Magazine and Buffalo Law Journal as one of Western New York’s top attorneys.
Throughout his career, Pat has been active in the legal community having been asked to serve on the Erie County Bar Association Judicial Committee and as the former president of the St. Thomas More Guild. He is currently a member of the Erie County Bar Association, New York State Trial Lawyers Association, Western New York Trial Lawyers Association and the New York State Defenders Association. Pat has also been asked to lecture to practicing attorneys at Continuing Legal Education seminars on personal injury topics such as ethics, expert witnesses and damages.
